A Daddy for Christmas

A Daddy for Christmas follows Lucas, a lonely librarian in Blackpool who is desperate to preserve his three-year relationship with Julian, and Sid Shale, an older electrician whose sixteen-year partnership has just ended in betrayal. Their lives collide shortly before Christmas when a drunken Sid accidentally enters Lucas’s flat, believing it is still part of the building he owns. Lucas is preparing to spend Christmas with Julian’s wealthy family for the first time. Julian insists that Lucas invite his estranged father, Clive, arguing that someone who rejects his only living parent cannot truly value family. Lucas knows the reality is more complicated: Clive was abusive, racist and violently homophobic, and effectively drove him from home when he left for university. When Julian implies that refusing the invitation could end their relationship, Lucas becomes desperate. Sid is facing a crisis of his own. He has discovered that his longtime partner, Frank, is having an affair with Sid’s boss, Barry.
