Synopsis

Conflict of Interest follows Preston York, the wealthy, dramatic younger son of a powerful family connected to St. Jude’s Medical Centre, and Lucas “Luke” Silva, the hospital’s exhausted and highly disciplined chief resident. Preston originally chooses medicine for the wrong reason: after his family dismisses him as a shallow spare heir who could never survive serious work, he enters medical school mainly to prove them wrong. Several years later, he arrives at St. Jude’s as an intern, wearing custom-made scrubs, expensive shoes and an attitude that immediately irritates Luke. Luke assumes Preston is a privileged rich boy who expects special treatment. He assigns him unpleasant jobs and waits for him to quit. Preston complains constantly about bodily fluids, hospital coffee and the lack of luxury, but he repeatedly surprises Luke. Beneath his theatrical behaviour, he has an excellent memory, understands patients and is willing to use every available resource to help them.
