Synopsis
The New Guy follows Gavin, a widowed single father beginning a new job as an athletic trainer for the Brooklyn Bruisers, and Hudson Newgate, a talented but emotionally guarded hockey player who has recently been traded to the team. Both men are trying to start over, but neither expects their new lives to become so closely connected. Gavin moves to Brooklyn with his young daughter, Jordyn, and his sister, Reggie. Since the death of his husband, Eddie, Gavin has focused entirely on parenting and work, refusing to risk loving someone again. On one of his first nights in the city, Reggie pushes him to go out. At a local bar, Gavin meets Hudson without knowing who he is. They flirt, play games and share an immediate attraction. Their promising encounter becomes complicated when Gavin discovers that Hudson is a player for the team employing him. Hudson, who has spent years keeping his attraction to men hidden, panics and begins avoiding Gavin.
