Synopsis

My Kind of Guy follows Becker “Beck” James, a twenty-five-year-old minor-league hockey goalie whose once-promising career has stalled, and Seth “Forest” Forrester, a divorced bartender raising his thirteen-year-old son, Charlie. Beck has quietly admired Forest for months from his regular seat at Sportsballs, the queer sports bar Forest co-owns near Denver. When Forest’s recreational hockey team suddenly needs a replacement goalie, Beck offers to play on one condition: if they win, Forest must take him home for sex. Forest refuses the bargain, partly because Beck seems too young and partly because Forest no longer allows casual partners into his life. However, Beck still joins the team and helps them defeat a group of homophobic rivals. The game brings them closer, and their attraction becomes impossible to ignore.
