Synopsis
Two Left Feet follows Oliver Harris, a celebrated midfielder whose entire identity is tied to Camden Football Club, and Leonardo “Leo” Davies-Villanueva, a younger academy graduate returning to London after years of being loaned abroad. When Oliver tears his hamstring midway through a disappointing Premier League season, manager Willem de Boer orders him to help Leo adjust to the first team. Oliver immediately resents the arrangement, seeing Leo as an inexperienced replacement waiting to take his position. Oliver has played for Camden since childhood and is regarded as the local golden boy. After losing his father young, the club became his home and football became the centre of his life. He has rejected opportunities to join richer and more successful teams because leaving Camden feels impossible. He is also secretly gay, known only to a few trusted people, including his former girlfriend and closest friend, Maggie. He believes coming out would destroy the stable public identity he has spent years creating. Leo has returned from Spain determined to prove that he belongs in Camden’s midfield.
